First Week over.....

Well, that's it, the first week back at school with my new class is done. The routines are in place , the behaviour expectations are set, the books are started, the classroom has taken shape, the learning has begun at a pace and the characters are starting to emerge! My class are lovely and it's so wonderful to be back teaching the biggies rather than the smallsies. They have initiative up in Year 6 that was always a bit of a struggle further down. Noone today has asked me what to do with a screwed up piece of paper they've found on the floor or got upset because their new shoes are scuffed -bless the smallsies. We have been discussing the Royal houses and how long the monarchs ruled and if they were more powerful because they were famous - so wonderful!!! AND something happened to me at the end of the day that has never happened before, at least 7 or 8 of the class came to me to say 'thank you'! Now that makes the job worthwhile! Perhaps teaching isn't that bad after all! ( remind me of this when I'm on my knees and frantically trying to get everything done in about 3 weeks time!!)

The rest of the family....

These are the final 2 members of our family who are called Tinker ( Belle) and Benjamin and are quite new to us. I'm not a pet person but these 2 are really quite lovely!

Emily has spent this afternoon cleaning them out and feeding them carrots by hand! pampered rabbits!!!

There have been 4 cases of myxamytosis in our area with domestic rabbits so we have just had them vaccinated.

My First Blog

Hello and welcome to my world! I am proud as... a peacock because thats my name and I am! I am proud of my girls,my lovely husband, my family, my achievements so far and lots lots more. I thought I'd share my inane banter with others who are interested and hope you enjoy my slant on life!

This is a photo of me and my lovely family. We are just coming to the end of a gloriously carefree and happy summer holiday where we didn't venture off to distant lands with glimmering sun and white beaches , oh no, we stayed here in England and 'did' London and all the fantastic tourist attractions and childhood memory creation moments with the extremes of 30 degrees heat waves and swimming in the Thames, to putting the heating and jumpers on gazing out at the rain! We have seen the crown jewels, Henry the VIII wandering around Hampton Court, wandered the toy floor at Harrods and gazed in awe at dinosaur bones at The Natural History Museum- pure unadultarated memory creation! From then on we have tried squirrel spotting at Formby( no luck!! they were hiding), trips to the farm where my 2 never tire of feeding the goats, screeched with laughter watching the Smurfs, breathed in history at Chester's Grsovenor Museum and run in and out of the water fountains at Chester's water park amongst many other things! My children are shattered and I'm looking forward to going back to work for a rest but boy, have we had a great summer!
